| Does anyone have pictures of a c plow attatched? Is the c rated as a 2 bottom or just single plow? I just completed my first allis restoration, and want to get some origional implements. I don't know much about farming but I am trying to learn. What kind of plow should I look for, and does anyone know of plows or cultivators for sale around north Georgia area? I just need any info on how the implements hookup to the model C. Thanks for any help!! |

I have seen a C pull a 2-12 pull type plow. I don't think I've ever seen anything but a 1 bottom mounted plow on a C. If you can find one, there are 2 way mounted plows out there. A 2 way has 1 bottom that throws to the right like normal and a 2nd that goes to the left. Having the 2 way setup saves the farmer time in that all he has to do is turn around and head back in the same furrow he just plowed. There is also no dead furrow somewhere in the field and all of the ground is turned the same way.

| I think you should look into a left & right twin plow setup for a C. AC made them for both the B and the C. Plow manuals for this set up are pretty easy to come by, but finding a complete set with all the hardware may not be easy. Some folks call them hillside plows because they allow you to throw the soil uphill going in either direction. Front tractor weights are almost a must have with this two plow set. I have a few odd pieces of attaching and lift hardware for a C twin plow set setup. |

Pics? I sure do. Here is my 1948 C with one bottom attached plow.    It is a NO 24-16 right hand plow. To be correct, it should not have the second set of straps on the part the plow hangs from, but they are commonly bent, and fixed this way. I also have an Allis Field Cultivator for this same C. It is not finished being restored yet, but here are some pics of it before I took it apart. Oh, not as fast as I'd like. Basically at a standstill, but being 10 hours away from it has that result unfortunately. A guy should never move away from his projects, but when the job calls, whats one to do? LOL! I located a new used head for the engine rebuild though, since the original one is cracked I guess according to the engine builder. So that should be on its way to him shortly. I'm having the original engine (numbers matching), straight six 235 rebuilt. It was tired, and I want this project to be perfect when done, down to the last nut and bolt. So check back in 20 years, LOL! It might be done by then! Jacob, you did an excellent job on the C! Looks pretty much correct too.
Lil elvis, how far are you from Elberton, GA? I'm about 50 miles east of Athens.
I have a 1946 C with 80 series cultivators and part of the rear field cultivator. Hoping to find some parts to finish those up myself.
Really wish I could find the 2 way pickup plows too. Would be great for plowing up the place around here.
Also, a C is rated as a two plow tractor, even though the pickup plow only gives you one in the ground at a time. It will pull a two bottom non-mounted or semi-mounted share-type or disc type-plow. B was rated as one row tractor, C as two row. Both have same engines, B is a little narrower in the rear. Does anybody know if the HP was different between the B and C? I don't.

| As best I can tell the engine and HP was the same for the same year on both B and C. When CA came out it had faster governed engine and more HP than B. |

| Glenn, my cousin has one of those field cultivators, I think it still has the gauge wheel on it too. He hasn't had it on the tractor in years. It's probably growing up in the bushes behind the barn. I need to ask him about it. |
