The last time I put a manifold on a tractor the manifold gaskets fit on the back of the manifold just enough to keep them in place while fitting the manifold to the engine. This time they seem to fit a little loose. does anybody have any tricks they use to keep them in place and straight until I can get the manifold bolted on? a little dab of glue maybe? what do you guys think? I'm looking for a few suggestions thank you. Dennis.

Dennis, I always use a thin coat of grease. Works well and has never caused me any problems.

Just a dab of Permatex High Tack will hold them.

Like Bob and Jeff I have used whatever sticky stuff was closest to me, grease, Hi-Tac, a drop of blue glue, doesnt take much and you dont want to use much. Another thing you can do on certain manifolds that have a decent fit to the cups is to slightly pinch the edges cups so they have to be pushed on the manifold.

I second the Hi Tack. If the manifold/head surfaces are a little rough, the Hi Tack will help seal it. Gas dissolves silicon sealer in minutes.
