We had a beautiful weekend here in New Joisey, so today it was time to work on the 620 right after I got the oil changed in Jo Jo's car and my Stratus. A quick wash job on the shop Van, & Jo Jo's ride and it was time to go to town on that 620!! Once again, "Alice" my model B equipped with a Henderson loader made it pretty easy to lift the engine out of the 620's chassis and set it gently on the ground. After quite some time, scrapin' with a putty knife to get all the muck off, it was time for some Grez-Off and an old paint brush. A lot of scrubbin' and the grease was ready to fly off once the Karcher was fired up. I was very pleased with the turnout! A nice clean chassis in and out! Not sure yet Dave. I'd like to keep the Onan if I can. Previous owner said it had a knock in the engine. Didn't want to take the chance in firing it up and it making a "window" in the side of the block, so I'll do a tear-down and see waz' goin' on in there. I see that Small Engine Warehouse has a repower kit for these 620's and 720's. If it comes down to a big expense rebuilding the Onan, I just might go for the repower kit. | Now your talking! I used Small Engine Warehouse for a repower on my 917 and was very satisfied. Everything fit perfectly. The only problem I had, was that the throttle cable was located in a different place and needed a longer one. P.S. Les go with the SBC. |

Last week Mother Nature gave us a little tease with 65 degree weather and melted what snow was left. The green grass started to pop with that 65 degree weekend. Well, we're now back to 31 degrees in the mornings, but it does warm up a tick in the afternoon. Ole man Winter just doesn't want to move on outta' here! well be glad you are short, when you find out the cost involved to rebuild an Onan engine you will fall over..... I would consider the Vangaurd engine from Small Engine Warehouse, cheaper than you would think. Matt, Yeah, I've been hearing some horror stories on these Onan's. Its scary! Macvette- Under the far tarp is the back half of my styled WF. The other tarp is covering my Model G that is under construction. That should take the suspense off... LOL! Steve, You realize that you just poked the hornets nest.....Now that everyone knows what is under the tarps, they will want more. That 620 looks like it can cover a lot of ground.
