The older style sleeve hitch's used a chain from top lift rod to raise and lower them. Sleeve hitch is for plow-disc and some brinly implements. What are you wanting to hook up to it?

on a 700 series you dont use a chain, it has a rod that hooks under the upper lift, i will try to get you a pic. this weekend.
