i reciently bought a AC 180 that is loosing hdy fluid in the transmission ,I'm quite sure it is the high /low range ,is this a common problem on the hdy operated hi/low ? I've had two 170s and never had a problems with the hi/low range on those ..  is it most likley the clutch pack or o-ring connections?   Gary

Gary - the fluid is moving into the transmission thru the transmission input shaft (most likely) or the rear PTO shaft.  Based on postings over the years, I agree I do seem to see this more in 180/185/190 units than D17 or 170/175.  You're going to have to split it to fix it so I'd replace the the seal on the input shaft, bearing retainer gasket & PTO rear shaft seals (two seals there) plus the sealing ring on the PD while I was in there.  Mike
