Would it be the same in my 7000?

Nope. Your 7000 has a four pinion differential. Instead of one straight pin and two spiders it is a cross with four spider gears. Won't work for you.

You can do the same thing to your cross but you would have to remove the differential and disassemble it to get the cross out. With the two pinion it is possible to change from a standard, non - needled pin to a needled pin without removing the differential. Remove the back plate / lift arm housing from the rear housing, remove the old and pin and install the new. Similar to doing a pregnancy check a Holstein.
