Here is picture of the progress of our 53 WD, I spent lots of time on this one as a kid, rounding up cows raking hay and cleaning out the holding pen. Dad and Uncle bought it from the family of the original owner, traded it in to the AC dealer about 85, was able to buy it back last year. I don't think it has ever had any major repair work and we're pretty sure from the history it never even really worked hard in the field, but the old gal has lots and lots of hours. The inside of the rails had 3 inches of dirt,oil mix packed in there. Just posting for fun. Leon B MO

Leon, I always enjoy cleaning all the crud off the tractors during restoration. It seems to give a lot of pleasure when done. Good luck on this project and thanks for the picture. Mike

OH!,,,I'm curious,,,my 53 WD has the WD45 tranny, and distributer insted of a mag.

Larry, I'd have to look to be sure of the numbers, but it seems like 127007 was the first WD to use the curved lever trans. My serial # is 144182, it does have the curved gearshift and 45 rearend. MNOONAN, your more than welcome to come and remove as much crud as you like, that's my least favorite part of the restore. But as you said it does have a numbing efect. I will be needing some parts also, seat and bracket, fenders, battery box, engine overhaul kit, steering wheel, gauges, bushings and so on. But I am not in a hurry.
