can I use the existing brakes on a 7040 with wildwood peddle and master cylinder. if I can where do I put the brake bleeder at on the housing to bleed air out of the piston. or do I just put a rotor on the axle. thanks brad

The existing 7040 brake system has a fair amount of leak off and no need for a bleeder. So, I don't think any after-market master cylinder would work without a large reservoir to feed it and it has to be hydraulic oil not brake fluid. Use the AC master cylinder and supply hydraulic oil to it via your power steering system return oil at 300 to 400 psi.

On a tractor that size, I'd never have manual steering, but that's just me. The engine is easily capable of a small pump for power steering and that could also supply hydraulic power for the brakes. Even a belt driven pump from a car or pickup truck would do. Maybe a snow plow electric pump connected to an bladder accumulator that could be used to store hydraulic pressure for the OEM brake valve. Brakes could be used several times before accumulator needed to be re-charged with the electric pump. What class of tractor and HP is this going to be ??

hp? right now im a model 100 pump 13mm pushed to the max. bosch injectors 4 by 22. head ported and polished by trymark. so I figure maybe 400 to 450 im limited to a 3lm 466 turbo 2.31. weight wise id like to get down to around 7500 would be pulling 8 and 8500 . im close now. I can run a apump in that class but is limited to 3000 rpms I don't think a apump is a big advantage at that rpm
