Anyone familiar with the 345B loader? I'm thinking of buying one- looks like a tidy little machine.

The one that my neighbor has was awesome, used to take that ole girl all over New York State loading trucks on dirty dirt jobs. Used to joke saying we should have put a bumper sticker on it from each town. I ran it a lot and has ton of power and would grab a full bucket every time. I can't remember why he don't use it that much any more, I know the big thing was it didn't have ROP cab and couldn't have it on jobs, and mechanically she started not holding a bucket in the air. Can't remember if its valve issue or rams leaking.
I be leave its the same engine as like the 7040 a 3500 motor. Don't remember haveing any issues with it other then turbo. And think we did center pins and pins in bucket to.

Ran one and worked on one for 8 years. Would buy one in a heartbeat. Hydraulics strong. Trans bulletproof. 301cid Allis motor ran great. Roosa Master pump probably weakest part of whole machine. It was a 1976 or 1977? Used it from 1994 to 2002. Unknown total hours but 8000-9000 good guess

i dug a basement with one 30 years ago.. Like mentioned, very strong, agile machine.

I would very much like to get hold of one too Trev. Never saw any down here so would have to import one. Am told Calafornia is a good exit point to get machines from the US to here. The specs of them look very good with the series B having the 2800 engine rather than the 4cylinder Perkins of the early ones. We had 545, 605, 645,745 here and they always stood out from other makes with their lift capacity and reach. At logging sites when trucks arrived, a 645 would grab 10,000lb jinkers off the back, lift them completely clear of the truck bolster poles, reverse out, couple up the jinker, and have a bed of logs on the bolsters before a Caterpillar 950 could even wriggle the jinker out the truck poles as they never had the reach to clear them.

I really like the looks of it- looks better than the 840 and 940 loaders I've seen, and of course has the AC power plant. Seems to be many more of those engines around compared to the 516 in the HD11 tractors, because of applications in ag machinery. My old neighbor has a 605B, county had 545B, everyone was impressed with those loaders.
