| How hard is it to find the riveted wheels and hubs for these tractors? A previous owner put on truck wheels and changed out the hubs on my B, and I was wondering how much the originals typically go for if I could locate them. There is a small chance that they would still be on the old owner's property. I might be able to buy them if I get really lucky. |

Check with some of the used parts dealers on the forum. Like Glenn says. If you need to replace the rims just the rivited hub/wheel centers alone are pretty reasonable. New replacement rims aren't cheap.
I have made up 2 sets for my early Bs using recycled narrow 15" temporary spare rims. You have to cut and grind the old centers out of the temporarys to salvage the blank rims you need. They are a bit wider than Stock AC rims or new replacements. Be sure to take a AC center to the bone yard when looking for narrow 15"rims. About half the temporary spare rims you check for a snug fit, don't fit even if they are stamped 15". If when you weld them on you weld only thru the rivit holes it looks better and holds plenty good.
Sometimes solid AC rims are found on used junk 5 hole centers. Knock out the rivits and your good to go. Don't expect the original rivit holes to line up when fitting them to rivited hub/wheels.

This is encouraging! I was worried that the riveted wheels would be really rare/expensive. I'm leaning more and more towards a correct restoration of my B. You don't have to change the centers of Mazda MX-6 temporary spares but you do have to bore the hole to fit the hub.
There is also the question of offset and the "correct" police

I have a set. 1 is on the 38B and has had the rivets drilled out. The other was given to me by some fella up in Wis. I bought a set of cast wheels for the 38 but don't have the blank rims and wedge head bolts yet or mine would be for sale.

My friend Gary bought 2 new replacement rims and 8 new wedge bolts for his 38 B restoration. The new wedge bolts fall thru the gap between the new rim and the cast hubs. To make them work the wedge heads need to be built up on at least two sides with weld and ground to shape. That should not be necessary but to make them work it will have to be done. The cast iron F&H hubs don't seem to be worn at all.
I'm a little worried about welding up these wedge bolts, These have parting lines on the heads like they were cast.
