Does anyone know of any books or beter yet videos of how to rebuild garden tractors? I have gotten such information for my WD 45 but am interested in redoing a garden tractor preferably an orange one (720) but any color that has information on how to tear it apart and such forth would be best. Thanks for any help!!!!

First thing to get is a digital camera! Take a zillion pictures at every step of the dismantling,save onto computer and back them ALL up. If you don't ,that one picture you can't find will hold the clus has to just how the devil this fits onto that !!!

Second , find a forum or two that's specific to your make of gardem tractor.The more online friends you can find the better,,afterall you're not the first to restore a garden tractor.

Third,find and buy any DOA 'dead on axle' similar tractors for parts.Going to the store to buy new,old parts can lead to heart attacks

Fourth, build an electrolysis tank,bigger the better.Mine's a plastic 45 gallon drum. Great to get rid of rust,old paint,grime,etc.Cheaper,cleaner,than sandblasting,works overnight while you're sleeping too!

Fifth,please take the tires off the rims.Use #4 to get the rims in great shape,then primer and paint them.Nothing worse than seeing overspray on tires,in my opinion.

I could go on......oh yeah, take pictures of it going back together.

First you have to find a 720 that doesn't cost you an arm and leg to buy, then restore or else you will have so in it you could have bought a full size tractor.
