I have a 226 4 1/8 bore 4.5 stroke out of a wd45 am wanting to put wc pistons in it I am tryin to avoid stroking it. Question is will this work,what are the wc pistons compression height and what kind of compressiom ratio/hp will I be getting. Fairly new to all this looking for advice.thanks

Yes you can run flat top WC or WD 4.125" replacement pistons with your combination. I'm running a similar combination but elected to go with 4.125" 170/175 crater pistons. We also used a WD45 block. This combo works out to be right at 240 cid and around 8.25:1 compression, and is good for about 58 hp at 2000 rpm. Depending which flat top pistons you use your compression ratio should be a little higher than ours. KipWink

isn't it the 175 gas cam that's hard to find? or are they the same?

A 170 cam isn't any different grind than a D-17 or "E" Gleaner or WD45 or WC for that matter. The "175" camshaft is the special high lift grind.

SR' find you some small block chevy pistons with same rist pin holes. works fine.

hi want to do same thing ..i have a 17 gleaner motor..need 4.125 pistons.want to grind crank& use 350 rods..OR 350 sbc pistons..  bob
