I have been contemplating this for a while.  I restored a G because we had it and it was a unique tractor.  I have used it and shown it for a few years now and people really love to talk about them at shows.  However a G does not fit anything we do other than show it.  I have recently bought a WD45 gas and a D14. We also have a 180 diesel and numerous other brands of large antique tractors.  The most farming we do is bale hay and do some small corn patches.  I love how the WD45 handles the square baler and Think a WD45 diesel would be great and a little more economical. My wife has other ideas on what I need to get rid of but the G just does not earn it's keep.  I restored the G myself and Other than a few areas it is 100%. I rebuilt the engine and trans and have pictures of the whole process. I have been collecting equipment up for it every chance I get and have a Disk Plow,Planet Jr 3 row vegetable planter,Woods Mower,Front and Rear Cultivator and Master Tool Carrier.  None of the implements are restored except the Disk Plow. So am I crazy or Do y'all understand my thinking.  I think the G with equipment is worth around $5000.00 or more as I know someone will ask.  I'm I off on the Price? My wife thinks Im crazy but Id rather have something I can use. This is it at a show last summer.

I have sold and traded many tractor and equipment  that wish that i  had not. I have come to learn as i get older, that i am going to trade for the ones that i really need. So i would say go for what you need, and i think you will enjoy it more. I have enjoyed my  WD45 LP more than i thought that i would. It is one that i purchase because i wanted it, and it turn out that i needed it.

wow nice looking G. does that disc plow mount to the back unlike the regular plows that mount on the front axle? kind of wondering what keeps it straight. wish I had some of your equipment for my G.

A D17 diesel will cost you less to buy and if you have to fix the inj pump, it will be cheaper there too. The 45D will have more collector value though. The D17's power director and design is a little more operator freindly. I guess it boils down to which one do you really want. D17D's are more plentiful.

Although that green one is not mine I have a 720 row crop that im pretty found of. I probably should not tell this on here but I would trade the G for another brand if the right tractor came along.Bruce here are the attaching picturesof the disk plow. I have an extra plow that needs a Disk also..

Ill go against the grain on this, in the long run the wd45 gas will be cheaper even though it uses more fuel, the buda diesel can run nice and economical, that is when they run. yes a wd45 diesel is collectible, but for a work tractor id take the gas. The buda egines just really arent that reliable for heavy use and dont take any abuse compared to the ole 226

How readily available is the disc, and how costly?
I would like a disc plow for my G.
