If the motor is free, what are you asking for the rest of it?

Is there truth in advertising here?

The last motor I got that was free came in a for free C. I had it running pretty quick on 2 cylinders so I pulled the valve cover to find 2 broken pushrods. I tapped the valves that were stuck till they popped loose and replaced the 2 pushrods. It ran on 4 but lots of blow by. Hard to time the mag because there was so little compression on #1.  Pulled the head and #1 piston and sleeve are cratered like battery acid ate holes in them. Head don't look to bad with the valves all closed. No big cracks between the cylinders. If I fix it it won't be  free any more. I did get to drive it. The free tranny made lots of noise so I inspected it. The main shaft was floping around in the case like it had no bearings left. I discovered the last mechanic that worked on this C put the front mainshaft bearing in bass ackwards. Can you imagine that?
