I have a wd45 diesel and a d19 diesel that both just sit in my garage from march till nov. then sit at the flywheelers park and back home. I am thinking about letting one of them go and need advice on which I should keep. The wd45 diesel is all stock and has been gone thru by the previous owner and runs good, the d19 diesel I did a complete restoration on and is in better than new condition and has 3 point hitch. If I keep the wd45 diesel I can haul it on the trailer I have but have to borrow a trailer to haul the d19 everytime. I have over 18k invested in the d19 and don't know if anyone would give me close to that for it. If I want to do some pulling it would be better to keep the wd45 diesel. I need to thin the herd, have way too many toys to work on, 2 race cars, 2 tractors, 6 vehicles, 2 motorcycles, 3 trailers, house and auto repair business to run and not enought time and things fall apart sitting around.

from the sounds of things I would let some of the other toys go if the 2 allis are all fiixed up and dont cost you anything. I would say let the 19 go but with 18k into it. You will never get that back

Considering only the tractors I would keep the WD-45 diesel. I think it's a little more unique.

I've spent many hours on both and would keep the D19TD just for the fun factor....you have another incentive to keep it as you won't get your money out of it (right now). I'm hoping in the future the value of the D19's will go up above the WD45D....sell the 45 and upgrade your trailer!

Just build a new barn and put all the AC's in it.
Or have a sale put a reserve on them and see what they bring. LOL
They are both nice toys in the box, I don't see a good answer to this one.

Well, its not that easy, 3 of the vehicles are for sale, customer vehicles that were not paid for when finished, 1994 chevy extra cab duallie, new heads, injection pump, injectors, lift pump and lots more, 5k. 2000 chevy s10 ls 2.2 auto ac tilt cruise cd player lots of work done, 3500, 1990 mitsubushi pickup rebuilt engine new brakes ac tires 2500. one of the race cars I have had since high school, 1974 camaro and the other 230 inch super comp dragster, low runs, big block power glide full electronics, but no one wants a dragster that is several years old, they want the latest and greatest piece. I live in the city and have nothing to do with the tractors but shows at the flywheelers park, I can race every weekend if I want and need one trailer to house the dragster and move the camaro.

Why not pull the dragster to the race on a trailer behind the D19TD. At least you'll have another use for it.

That's a tough one Bob.Hopefully, you'll have luck and sell the vehicles. At that point, you'll be down to a collection of toys you can handle. Then,possibly upgrade the trailor so you can haul D19 without borrowing another trailor. If that's not possible, I would probably consider selling the D19 if you could get a reasonable price for it.You might still loose some money, but let folks at Flywheelers know it's for sale and maybe you could get it sold without loosing both arms. Of course,this is my opinion and it's worth what I charged you for it. LOL God Bless.

Sell at least 2 of the trailers and buy one to haul the D19. I suppose it's possible to get $18K out of a restored D19 but it'd be a hard sell. You didn't say how much you have in the WD45 diesel. Since you mentioned that you don't work them, the WD45 diesel might be better to keep since it's older and already more desirable and lack of comfort wouldn't be such a big deal. If they were work tractors then I'd probably keep the D19D.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

Sell the house in the city and put the tractors to work out in the country. I have a '66 Impala, four trucks, three tractors,..., and on my acres could have more. Sell the three vehicles and the wd and you would have a hefty downpayment.

I think you want to keep a toy at the Flywheelers, the WD45D would be the least expensive way there. I would test the waters on YT for the D19D, maybe advertise around Nashville. You just need to get it out where there the money is. It is a better than new machine and shows well.

Some one on here had posted awhile ago how yuppies in the new england states don't blink an eye at paying big bucks for tractors that were basically running junk for their few country acres.
Bob, Several days ago I heard about a fellow that was giving all his wealth away to south america and ??? countries to the poor people and he is going to move to the woods and live in a cabin. Because that is more rewarding to him. Wonder if he could use a D19 in the woods for say $20,000 bucks? If you find that guy, tell him you know where there's a bunch of cows that he could buy and turn them loose in the woods for about the same amount. - For some that rich to drop that kind of cash, would be like us dropping a nickle or a dime on the ground, . :-)
Yes Bob, you have a problem. WD45 easier to transport, D19 one of a kind now with all your work and sweat put into it.
Maybe contact jayleno to see if he would like to add to his collection of the race cars? Good Luck.

The truth is I don't really want to sell anything but, I need to find more money to keep my business open till the economy gets better. This time of the year should be my busy time due to all the northern folks that come here for the winter, but they are not spending much on anything but resturants and shopping, only turned 85 hours in jan and not going to borrow more money so I have to look at the things that I don't use or will not be missed.

At the last show I tried to sell both tractors as a package deal to a fellow at the flywheelers park for 18k just to move them.

my opinion...definitly hold on to the 45d.they are getting scarce(the good ones)
ii have 2 of them and 3 gas burner.the big d stays.if i was you i would pursue the european market.i have a friend in florida who sold an oliver 77 to a man i believe in germany or england and did very well on it.there are a lot of those folks with deep pockets and love the american tractors.if you are near a TSC store.they have here in texas,a magazine of european buy and sell...good luck j.w.

I would keep the D19 diesel I believe. It is a harder find with the factory three point. If it ever comes to needing a tractor the D19 will do more and has more gears. I think it is a buyers market on the D19's right now, and a sellers market on the wd45 diesels. Good luck with your choice.
