Ron, everyone's situations are different.  I work with a guy who has a 5 yr. old son that he hasn't seen since he was one month old.  Story goes, he was engaged to this girl who had gotten a divorce from her husband.  She had the baby, got cold feet or something and skipped town 1 month after having the baby and went back to her exhusband in Pennsylvania.  My buddy didn't even know where she was for the first couple years.  It has at least gotten to the point where his boy knows he has a different daddy and has talked to him a couple times in the last couple months, but he still hasn't seen him.  It's not my buddies fault, and when he talks about it, it really tears him up that he has a son, and doesn't have the opportunity to be a dad to him.

6 years is a long time ....

It wasn't what I wanted, but that is in the past.

She gave me a big hug & made my favorite meal
(beans & wieners) later in the evening.

Nothing more important than your kids,
sometimes you have to wait for them to realize that.

That is great news Jim. I know you have been looking forward to this for some time now. The feelings you must have had when she said hello and then the big hug. You've got to be floating on cloud nine about now. Glad the reunion was happy. God Bless.

Jim:I had tears.  My youngest daughter was estranged for 6 years we did see her 2 times in 3 years then suddenly she came home to see Mom before she died.  All of this goes back
to high school but she's calling again and answering calls.  She also is on the west coastal area. Redmond, Wash.  My name is also Jim.  I'm a long way from Wa.  near Terre Haute, Ind.  God Blesses us all.

The nice thing is that I get to spend Valentines Day with her
after many years of not being able to be with her.

Truly there are days when a parent is blessed and
it more than makes up for the lost years ....

Happy Valentines Day to eveyone!

Congratulations, Jim. Judging from the picture she seems to be quite a lovely young lady. I would not want to have to endure not seeing my daughter on a regular basis. Hope you two have many more wonderful days together.
