Tractor will only be used for pulling in Antique stock 3 mph class.
OEM sized tires/wheels

Which would you choose?

WC....same engine as a WD but much lighter....only dissadvantage is they're geared a bit high but I run pace class with mine. Easy to lighten up too. Get rid of the cast rear wheel centers, cultivator lift and go to a dry air cleaner and lose the old one will cut a pile of weight.

Charlie,
We are starting on a 56 SC CA this winter as I had put one into someone's shop for news seals and paint some years ago and he ended up starting to strip it, literally. Since she became seized by the time I got her back and there is plentiful parts out there, she is getting the treatment.
At 52 years old I have no desire to build a bigger one and transfer bigger weights so another advantage is I can pull her around on a single axle trailer while throwing some weights in the back of a 1/2 ton. Have a left side rear axle coming from Paul Ohmes in MO so we can delete my hand clutch. Paul parts out B, C and CA's, so parts are not a problem if we go overboard and start breaking stuff.
The WC, WD and 45's run hot around here and are always chasing the "stock" six cylinder Ollies, so I wanted something different and manageable (less funds?!).
We had a 57 model on the farm growing up and just could not kill that little thing, plus when parked next to my D12, the CA is nearly 8" longer for wheelbase.
There is only a few CA's pulling in north and central TX so I will be running against a number of C and B's for the most part, plus throw in some IH Cubs and little Fords.
Should be some fun as I have plenty of weights including OEM front wheel donuts and rears for for the CA/D12.

This type of class is made to order for the WC. I pull B, C, and a couple of different WCs. If I could only have one pulling tractor it would definitely be a WC! KipThumbs Up

I agree WC for sure. Put a little stronger governor spring in it and it will probably always spin out if you don't weight it down with OEM tires on it. If you want to pull heavier and they start beating up on you, put some 4 1/8 th pistons and WD45 crank in it. Put a muffler on it & no one can tell the difference. If they ask how you suddenly got more power--I don't know-just cleaned the carb.-must have been stopped up--LOL

yes but i have found that with stock sized tires and weight, a stock tractor powers out quite easily, i would say toss up, wc's look good especially unstyled but without a doubt i love the foot brakes on my wd, especially when i got the front end up and need to steer with the brakes lol. also i prefer the throttle position on the wd better, just a couple small things, i would look at and sit on both and see what you like better. i beat up on hopped up wc's all the time with my stock wd, remember what they forget, with a stock class tractor you only need enough power to go all the way in your heaviest class in first gear

I picked up a CA last month so I will be using that. I can fit it and my D17 on a 16' trailer so for now they will be my main pullers. I get the D12 and B out occasionally also to pull. I just need a 40' trailer to haul them all!

Due to funds I am sticking to a stock tractor for the farm or 3 mph class. 
11.2x24 rears
Still debating to leave it stripped down and pull the 2500 class or put all the stuff on it and stick to the 3000/3500 classes. I like the looks of a complete tractor so it looks like 3000 will be the lightest class I can do as it looks like it weighs around 2700 lbs as is.

As anyone that knows me, I'm partial to CAs. I have two CA pullers one with a turbo and the other has a built engine. Both are a good match for each other and pull the 2500 pound class in third gear with oversize tires. A good stock CA can run 2nd gear with stock tires at 2500 and you should be able to stay under 3MPH. But at 3000 you'll need to use 1st. Then you'll regularly get beaten by the WCs for which the WC is the perfect tractor. It is easy to remover the PTO, hydraulics and heavy hitch parts to get to 2500 and have some moveable weight. No need to remove the right hand axle clutch if it's in good condition as it will handle more power than the stock CA engine can produce this will also not destroy to complete look of the tractor if done right. It is not too much work to get a CA to making near 30HP for tight tracks.
I might be coming down to Woodstock in June with the non-turbo CA to pull, as this year they feature Allis. If you want to come up and see how I done my two send me a message. PaulB in Md

    Hey Orange Wizzard. Glad to see you still get up every morning. Me too. I shur get a kick out of climbing up on my CA and taking home blue ribbons. I'm hard to beat around here in #4000 weighted farm stock class.
    Don't post much here any more since I got hooked on restoring a 1983 FSJ Cherokee Laredo barn find. First vehicle I ever owned with power windows. They all actually work.
It's basicly all done now so I can get back to putting some AC Bs and Cs back together and get more room in the barn.        Ken       Say helow to Brett for me.   Thanks
