New engine needed, My 1951 G blew a rusted seal while cultivating this morning,It was so cold this morning (37deg)didn't notice the overheat .Poo the seal and crack the head.This is my daily cultivating tractor. I need to repair ASAP.

Not trying to be funny, but what is a rusted seal? Head gasket maybe? Are we talking about the L-head continental engine? How bad is it cracked? If the block is OK, you may be able to get a good shop to weld the flat head, then machine it to take out any warpage. Then you would only need to order a head gasket from Tony Carbaugh or any of these other fine folks on here. I'm sure they would sell you an engine if yours is worn out.

It was one of the steel seal from the block ,aparently have a pinhole .I bought the tractor for daily use and have serve me for the last three seasons.Theres a visible crack on the head.

I see. Core plug on the outside of block. Also called freeze plugs. I'm guessing you can see the crack from outside? Have you taken the head off yet? Did the tractor quit with you, or did you notice it and shut it down? You can remove the rusty core plug and measure the hole. Most parts stores can get you replacement plugs. If you have a NAPA around there, they can order gaskets and such also, but I have had great luck with Tonys' tractors. He's in Oregon, and he can get me parts to GA in 2 or 3 days. He has most of this stuff in stock too. NAPA would probably take that long, and might cost more too. All this depends on how much else is wrong with it. Pull the head off and see what you have.

I've got a G with a welded head. I didn't really notice it until last summer it seeped a bit near the water outlet. There is a hairline crack next to the weld, I put some JB weld on it and it seems to be holding fine. Dunno when it was welded, but it looks like it was donkey's years ago. The head in that area is really thin, I'm surprised it worked. But I guess it proves it is possible to weld one up.
