am i the only dumb SOB that always catches his gloves on the throttle lever on the wd? i'm always knocking the throttle back when i turn the wheel to the left because my gloves catch the throttle and pushes it up...this has always been a pet peeve of mine with the wd. alan

I never had that happen, I did raise the disc once with Dads WD and slipped off the hyd handle and bumped the throttle open. That was the only time I ran a tractor into a fence, fence weren't no good anyway. Maybe you need to extend the steering shaft a little, giving you more room for hands and gloves. I have a spinner knob on the wheel because the PS works great, guess that's what keeps my gloves away from the throttle lever..

I never had that problem. I cant realy drive a WD or 45 due to the hand clutch. Iam 6'9 and I have to put my leg over the top of the hand clutch. Its not good then I cant use the breaks. kip

Kip, why don't you try bolting a heavy plate to the seat mounts at the bottom and extending the entire seat and suspension back? I have a friend that's 6'-7". He did something like that on his Farmall. Solved all the problems.

Alan, maybe a little tweaking on the end of the throttle lever to bend it slightly forward might help? I have to do little things like that all the time to make the tractor more comfortable. I figure if i'm gonna spend a lot of time on there, I might as well be as comfy as I can. same goes for my work truck. I drive a lot, so I get things moved around where they "fit" right. Being uncomfortable or something being a nuisance like that gets old real fast.

ok, so the consensus is i'm a dumb SOB. i can agree with that. i guess its a good thing i left my mensa membership expire, so they don't find out and have to expel me!! alan

Alan, guess I wouldn't buy into the "dumb SOB" conclusion! Either that or you have a lot of company on here. I run into the "failure to see the obvious" more times than I'd like to think about....sometimes these challenges are pretty subtle, like the time I couldn't figure out why my WC was running rich no matter how I adjusted the carb. That was the time I discovered that the air cleaner was packed with dirt between the outer and inner walls....poor old girl couldn't breathe.

well, I have the opposite problem as Kip, I'm too short an round, I'm always stretching for things.
Alan, I don't believe the conclusion was that you are the only dumb SOB. I can't work with gloves (never can find a pair to fit, short fingers for the size of the paw) so I wouldn't have that problem

Alan, Do you have a after market wheel on the WD? Some of the ones I have looked at are set in to the levers a little bit. This might be why your gloves of hanging on the throttle lever. LOL
