Hi all,
I just joined this site not long ago. It was a great find! I have grown up around Allis Chalmers my entire life (which is not long- I am 21). my parents started dairy farming in the early 90's when i was just a few years old. and of course the only tractors they own are Allis Chalmers! it is sad to say though that all of these tractors have seen better days. they get used hard and get put away wet. I would love to restore at least some of them but I have to get out of college first. Here's the list

D-17
170-gas
185-turbo diesel (not factory turbo'd)
7020
2wd 8070
4wd 8070

and one agco allis 6690 4wd with loader

I wanted to say I love reading all the information on here. I just wish I had half the knowledge that is on here. Here are some pictures of some of the abused tractors

2wd 8070 right after engine rebuild. has over 14,000 hours and powershift never been touched. used to feed cows everyday

4wd 8070. has not been our best tractor but also has been very abused. has over 13,000 hours on it, but powershift rebuilt once, engine a few times (mostly from freak things happening to it).

this is probably the best tractor. our 7020. it has over 14,000 hours and powershift tranny and rearend have never been touched. It has had a very abused life but it never leaves us down. I can say I have never seen a tractor take as much abuse as this one has taken over the years.

and last, this is the back window of my truck. my college has a vinyl machine and i was able to make this sticker for my window

I want to find out more about these tractors as I read. Again, it was great finding this site!

Welcome!  I think I was 21 when I found this site too, back before the home page hour meter rolled over the first time.  As long as you've got your computer, you've got all the AC knowledge that's on here, all you have to do is ask.

Welcome to your new on line hang out. lol
I think you will find that all the help you need is right here. We have a large group on here. And yes some of the tractors are restored to like new (maybe better that new) and some still work the way Allis Chalmers made them to do. We all have a deep pride in are tractors new looking or just working for a living.

Welcome to the greatest tractor site on the net! We might not always agree but we all do bleed Persian orange when the blood gets to flowing!  Where in Pa do you live?

thanks guys! right now im just going through other posts and doing some reading before i ask some questions. i really do take pride in our tractors, and now its great to find others that have the same pride. it was a shame this great company went under before i was even born.

I live in Somerset county, but live most of my childhood in York county until 2000. i go to college in Lima, OH.

Does anyone think the new MF tractors will last that long. I don't. Had a local MF dealer 5 miles away. Bought 4 new tractors in early eighties. They bit the dust long ago. Average engine 3000 hrs. Average clutch for loader tractor 1500 hrs.  The tranny and hyd. was like an eveready they keep on going. A few of my neighbors drove 2 hrs to get to an allid dealer. Didn't understand them then. But i do now.
