I saw this model 64 semi mount plow on craig's list and was wondering why it would have the square tube on the top of it, I thought that only the 70 and 80 series plows had that.  I have an original manual for a model 64 and it doesn't show the square tube in it anywhere. Is it something that has been added or was it an option?

Just the newer 64 models came from the factory with the top brace.

My plow booklets for 57-59 show no beem on top for 64s, 65s, and74s, but in my 1960 booklet the show a top beem brace. In later models the brace was bigger.
