How is your WC setup? Larger rear tires?

Our old club wouldn't let 88's pull below 4500#. I'am surprised he was able to get that light.

I have been looking around for a good WC, can't find any close by. Did find one 3 hours away. '41 model, 14.9x28's on the back. Looks to be original paint, nice and worn. Supposed to run good but that is ones interpretation. $1100 Like to pull it in 3000, 3500, 4000 classes (Stock)
Now to convince myself to go get it.

Charlie, It's tough to get down to 3,000 pounds on a WC with the heavy cast center 28" or spoker 24" wheels. We got a styled '38 that light with the pressed steel 24" wheels, no fenders, pto, or pulley, and a regular (not plus sized!) jockey! We have found that our WC pulled LOTS better at 3,500 pounds & even better yet at 4,000 pounds. Kip

Charlie, the WC has a pair of miss matched weather checked two different brands of 13.6 x 28 on it, loves a hard track.

Interesting. The dry hard tracks around here, my 17 just can't bite. I went with a short hitch, 20" high which helped. I guess it boils down to tires. That or I need to go to the heavy classes.
I like the 3000-5000 classes, the Oilver 66, Farmall C's, and such are fun to watch. I just need a WC to beat them :)
