I know some of you can refresh my failing memory - what is the correct color scheme of the C Allis.  All orange except rear aluminum wheels?   Were the wedges orange or aluminum?  Front wheels all orange?  Any other colorts except black steering wheel?

    I'm pretty sure the wedges (Clamps) and bolts were PO#1. Rims were galvanized when new. Aluminum paint is a bit brite. Rustoleum Pewter is closer to a galvanize color. PO#1 is the correct Orange.
    I have seen the hub and spokes on steering wheels painted orange or black. Tend to think orange is correct.
    Colors of Fan, Starter and Generator ??? Black???

I'm sure others will jump in, but I think you are 100% correct.  Wedges are orange.  Rear rims were galvanized, and many have been using Rustoleum Hammered finish silver to closely match.  Front wheels are all orange (without silver lip).  I think there is debate if the generator and starter were black, but I think most agree they were orange too.  Although many do tape it off (including me), Dad even said the mag (if equipped) should be painted too.  Disclaimer: I am trying to be helpful, but certainly I am not a member of the correct police.

Yep, pretty much got it covered already,  I try to get my tractors back to "correct police" status, but I know I got many things "wrong". (I see "perfect" as my end "goal")  It all comes down to what makes you happy!  But anyway, from all I read, the tractors were painted all orange (in this case PO#1) at the factory.  That includes starter, generator, mag, carb, etc...  even the plug wires, and that stuff.   masking stuff off would cost time and manpower.  And we have to remember it was originally a work machine, not a restored beauty like many are today.  NOT that that's bad, I love a machine that is all restored up!    They would have masked the ID tags on the starter, gen, etc... off though.  A tag is no good if painted over, you can't read it.  The reason many have the starter, etc... black is that once the component was replaced during its life (starter went bad) that the replacement would have been black, and a farmer would have not taken the time to paint it orange to match the tractor.  So many grew up seeing the black components, and either think, or like the look of the black components.
Some will argue that the rear rims were orange too on the C's.  I paint mine some type of silver/gray to simulate the original galvinised.

 I have seen pictures of my grandfathers C when it was new. The best I can tell from the old pictures,everything was painted orange except the rear rims and steering wheel grip. Even the mag,wires and plugs were sprayed at the factory. I don't think it looked as good,but they weren't going for looks back then. Strictly function. If they only knew what we are doing with those tractors now.
