On the 7G I just bought I am considering rebuilding the bucket for a GP spare, where do most get cutting edges, Teeth replacement anchors and heads, wear plates? The bottom is cracked to no end so it will likely get a sheet steel replacement, then it will need wear pads and of course the rest. Pin bosses are tight and not bent to heck either, as the rear of the bucket is still solid and not all bent up.

Depending on your intended use - AR plate with high wear resistance or a mild steel with sacrificial wear plates. Any larger steel supply co should be able to get cutting edge .
I had teeth on my HD5G bucket but found most work i did with it did not require teeth so welded on 5/8 x 10" steel plate to front of bucket after removing old cutting edge and trimming back bucket.
On dozer the cutting edge and end bits is more important as shear action of blade in normal use.

If your bucket is going to rub much. Go with the AR plate. Save you lots of trouble. HTH Tracy Martin

I have used hot roll plate on similar applications. I was not happy with how quickly it rusted. Does abraision resistant plate rust less?

Any material with carbon is going to rust. AR plate is harder and wears less than HRS or CRS . HTH Tracy Martin

As this will be a backup bucket, I will probably stick to general carbon steel plate for the base, layer on a few wear plates of AR bottom and sides and add a new cutting edge then paint all for now. Won't know where it will come from yet, have to call the local steel yard tomorrow. Teeth may not be that important but if reasonable may go ahead and get at least 5. 79" bucket dimension best can measure, would it be considered as a 79" or 80" with the side edges?

If you look at a lot of buckets used on loaders - like those in gravel pit - which is used daily to load or move material - you will see they are welded with stringer beads of hardfacing rod . Sides of buckets and areas that come into contact with scraping or digging are welded over to protect the base metal.
It all rusts and it all wears - just how fast and how much changes some with the makeup of metal.
