I have a B arched axle that is 6 inches narrower than standard. 30 1/2 inches spindle center to center. May be homemade but can't think of a reason why anyone would narrow one unless he was building a Potato B. It came off a 38B parts tractor. If anyone is interested contact me. I have no use for a narrowed B arched axle.

Huh? I would definately look at that one a little closer to see if there is any evidence of modification.... Since the Potato B has always been describe in the lit as the straight adj axle, (although slightly narrower) your piece would be an interesting conversation piece.

Ken, I am in Texas right now, wish I could stop by and put an eyeball on that one. Texas is BIG though, and I won't be anywhere near your place. I'm on South Padre right now, be headed up through Dallas into OK/MO on Friday. Your corner of the state includes traveling through Houston and too many miles of back roads for us traveling in the coach. I have to believe that axle was modified after the factory, but I sure would like to see it.

Whoever narrowed it up did a super neat job of welding it back together. About 3 inches were cut out of both sides of the top of the arch on both sides of the squareish center. Except for the welds. Just looking at it, it's hard to tell it has been modified. The V going back to the rear pivot had to be pulled together at the wide ends too. I will try to get a good picture tomorrow in the daylight and post it.

Brad. I'm just south of I20. 120 miles due east of Dallas.

Arcadia Pop 320. right on the Lake MI. Short for Michigan If I was heading to Muskegon, Michigan from here or from Dallas I would go 30 and 40, 55 and 57 to Chi-caw-go-ski and avoid the Oklahoma turnpikes.

Know that path well except I jump off on 70 go to Indy and then 69 North.

Now when you get to the 55 /57 get off you need to do one exit north on 55 and get off. Take a left at the stop and go about a half mile or so to Lamburts for an eating treat.

Don't bother to thank me know there will be time after you recover. Unless your a glutton you will have take homes also.

I never miss it when passing thru there. Dixie and I smile for two days after.

I have a very similar B (1938) - probably 6" narrow. It is rumored to have been brought up to MN from TX in 2003 or so. Welding is very nice on front end, but camber is a little off. I am looking a photo...

Really obvious since the tie rod ends are fully turned in to get proper toe-in. Never figured out what the purpose was.

This is realy getting interesting. This 38B is a Texas B. On this one the tie rod is shortened and welded back together in the center. I will get a picture of it posted soon.

Anything to do with any special row spacing for special crops down there in texas? Do you guys grow strawberries or anything else with weird spacing down there?
