I just picked up a 170 gas that has thrown a rod through the side of the pan. Can I drop the pan without removing the wishbone and front assembly? Trying to get a look at what I am in for. What else used the 226 engine besides the D17?

The Gleaner E engine is the same and so is the 175 gas.  The WD45 used a 226 but it was a lighter block.

It's pretty easy to remove the axle, then you will be able to access the pan with no problems.
