I'm looking at a z engine and was wondering is there anything to look for

As in what???? The only difference is the compression ratio. Other than that it's exactly the same as any other Gleaner model E engine.

Well I was wondering if there was any problems .is there any z engine better then others referring later vs earlier

I am pretty sure it does, 8:1, I think, A little searching here will answer your question...
