I tried to search and couldn't find the reply. What is the proper depth to grind the flywheel on a 226 gas. Someone posted it after I had the flywheel turned in the D17D that I fixed last summer.

Brian are you talking about the flywheel clutch face? I have the 170/175 service manual handy and the flywheel for the 226 gas engine is the same as a D17. If so that face can be ground .0625" maximum. The dimension from clutch mounting face to clutch face surface is 1.437" +/-.005". From clutch face surface to pilot face is 1.157"+/-.01".
