any help would be appreciated. We replaced the energy cell and now it is leaking around the head. The cap and energy cell  was burned when we removed it so we replaced  both. We cleaned head where the cell goes before we installed it. how can we stop it from leaking around the energy cell and Head? The cap is not leaking its leaking around the cell itself where it seals in the head.

Use laping compound. Lap all the parts where they seat in head and cap.  MACK

How can you lap the energy cell in the head when you have to drive it in? Its a tight fit and wont spin?

With the carbon cleaned out it should turn free. May be the reason it leaks.  MACK

I had the same problem on my D17D. First, the cell body should spin freely in the hole. I used blue tool makers die and found that the cell wasn't seating all the way down. The shoulder was stopping it short. So I chucked the neck of the cell in my drill press and used a small file to take a few thousands off the bottom of the shoulder until the die would show that the cell was going all the way to the bottom. than I used a little copper gasket sealer. I don't know if the sealer helped, but it didn't hurt. I also lapped the cap to the body. Kraig (WI)
