Does anyone have pictures they could post of an original model B and C front mounted snow plow mounted on the tractor. I did searches on line but couldn't find any or any info on when they were made and by whom etc.
Also was one made for the WD or WD45?

| Myers made one for the B, but I have never seen one. Most of the ones that you will find were home made. Most go from the draw bar to the torque tube much like the B/C sickle bar mower. I have seen many, many different lift variations, some hand lift, some cable lift, some hydraulic lift. Many different ways to do it. I thought of building one myself but haven't had the time or material to do it. Just use some ingenuity! |

Somebody (can`t remember brand name)made a loader for the C & CA with a hydralic pump coming off the PTO. That would be an ideal setup with a blade in front of the loader ------------- God bless our troops and the United States of America. Pick your rut well, you may be in it a long time. |

| I don't have photo capability, but I do have a home made snowplow setup on my 56 B I wish I could post a picture of the wooden plow that came on one of my Bs it must have been made from any junk laying around the farm. and it worked amazingly well, but parts kept falling off. The one I made is fairly simple with3" angle iron from the drawbar forward to a header hung from the steel plate at the front of the engine and an upright on each side to thebellhousing. The blade is6Ft. from an old jeep it is spring loaded and pivots. The lift is a cable over 2 pulleys at the front to the drawbar pulley then up to the garden plow lift. The B plows great with chains on rear tires. I don' t beleave AC ever made snowplows. Cal in Ct. |

About 50 years ago we had a B with a manual-lift cultivator. We used what we had and made a blade from an oak plank bolted to the cultivator shoes so we had a mid-ships plow with the blade angled to the right. It worked in snow up to about 8 or 10 inches. I suppose if we had an ordinary steel blade, we could have extended it out to the right beyond the wheel treads and plowed heavier snow in narrow passes once I had opened a full-width pass with the plow centered between the wheels. I didn't have chains for the tractor, so it was really helpless in deep snow. "We" means my brother Bob, a/k/a DownEastAllis, and me. ------------- -Gordon in Maryland |

| I had a C yrs ago with a allis made snow plow and I have one for a wd plow that when I bought it 25 yrs ago the farmer told me he bought it new from his ac dealer with his wd .I had to puta different blade on it because he used it more a a dozer blade and bent it all up but I used it for yrs with the truck blade on it.The fram was persion orange 1 so I never really questioned the maker of it.All I know is it bolts on and works very well |

Here is a sales flyer with some neat pictures. I do know you could buy a meyers snow plow for a D-10/D-12 from your A-C dealer. They also sold a vee plow. I think most of them were from an outside sorce.

I picked up a plow for a B several years ago and gave it to my brother to put on his '48. The push frame bolted to the front of the final drives and was carried on the radiator support in the holes that side weights attach to. A cable from the rear to the front lifted the 6' plow. The orange push frame had Allis Chalmers stenciled on them... I don't think the plow is on his tractor right now but I might be able to get a picture or two... ------------- Education is what you get when you don't get what you wanted. |

When we sold them we loved the hookup for the Myers Snow Plow. On the B it had a mounting frame on the front supported by angle iron that went to the rear drawbar. A pulley was attached to the drawbar and a cable from the rear lift arm ran to the front mounting bracket to lift the plow. Worked very well.
There was a Myers made for the WC, WD, and WD-45. They all worked on the same principal as the B lifting from the rear and being supported from the rear drawbar. Nice units.
We sold enough of them. Worked well.
Don't have any pictures though.
