| I am going to sell my 1935 UC, it is in good shape for its age. It has fenders and I will let the starter go with it , but the starter needs to be put back together. The tractor starts on the third pull and runs good, I have pulled a plow with it several times. Do not use it much anymore as I have got my A so this UC sits in the shed a lot. I live in southwestern Wisconsin and am asking 4000 dollars for it. Thanks Dave call me at 1-608-558-2111. |

I wish I was in the market. I probably have purchased enough tractors for a little while. Your UC sounds like a great tractor, and probably right in line on pricing. Now, if you were desparately looking for a Farmall F12 and wanting to do some trading......yeah, right.
When the photos were taken for the Allis Chalmers 70th anniv. calendar, did you actually have your tractor on that farm at Pomeroy, IA? I had heard that at least one of the photos was doctored to place a tractor by the barn. (kind of an early manual style of photoshop)
The attached photo has a background some might recognize. It is as close as I will ever get to being famous. This was taken in the winter of 1989. One of the WC tractors gave it's life so the 1938 could live. I only rented the house there. I cannot claim anything other than living there for a short while, and dragging the tractors home. I came back to my home town near Des Moines in March of 1990 when I had an opportunity to farm.
There are a lot of great people in the Pomeroy area. I was a partsman at the dealer there for a short while. I learned a tremendous amount there, and have many fond memories of that time. Fortunately, I have done a lot of growing up since then-other than the AC tractor fetish I have.

This may be a stupid question, but I have to ask. What are those wheels made of on the left tractor? It looks like concrete!

You got it. I don't know the whole story on them, but it was regular rear steel wheels with extensions welded on with what looked like a 5 gallon bucket in the middle to access the bolts. They were then filled with concrete. Heavy. I sold them on eBay a few years ago, they ended up near Decorah, IA if I remember correctly. I found a set of steel for it, and then later bought rubber tires and rims so I could take it on tractor rides. Great tractor, but just a little slow for tractor rides.
Somewhere I have the photos I used on eBay, I will keep looking for them. Somebody worked hard on those wheels.

I love WC's more than any Allis. Thanks for the pics. If I had the means, I'd be after this UC. One of these days I hope to have a UC, but its gonna have to wait.------------- There isn't much a WC can't do. WD's just do it better. |

Would you have some photos of this tractor? What size rear tires does it have, I know some had larger ones, I think 26" ? You are a little far from me but we will see what you have.
