On my Wd how full does the trans need to be? Bottem of fill plug?

I was putting 80/90 in today the level was about 2 inches from the fill plug when I seen just a little gear oil start to drip out of a hole going into the handclutch area.

Another ? I took off a plate on top of the casting going into the beltpully area when I seen a brass fitting with a shield, I got to looking and seen there was some junk in the plug so i do what I do best take off the part!  Some Po has put like putty in the brass fitting!  Why would they do that?

Thanks Guys

There is three places to put oil in on the clutch side of the tractor closest to the front is hydraulics it has a dipstick on it next is hand clutch /pto and it fills to bottom of fill hole (pipe plug) back is trans/ rearend and it fills to bottom of Fill hole (pipe plug) you lost me when you said you seen a little start to drip out of a hole going into the hand clutch area that fill plug is only a 1 inch hole and you would be looking straight down so how could you see that?

I had the cover off the handclutch! and the drain plug off the pto!  I put gear oil in the tran/diff then a few mins later I came back and seen gear oil dripping out of the pto!
Looked down into the handclutch and seen a hole with grear oil running out of it.

OK that answers the seeing but can't think of a hole between them . how big of a hole maybe a bolt out?

The trans/diff, hand clutch and PTO all share the same fluid (80-90W). Hydraulic is separate with belt pulley. There are holes between the compartments so when you fill the trans, all compartments fill up. There are also 3 drain plugs for the trans, differential and PTO. What you saw was oil flowing from the trans compartment to the hand clutch part, which is normal.
