Has any body worked with allis chalmers sewer pumps out there. Just wondering if any others have. When I worked for are town we had 2 pump stations running them and thought it was cool and sense this is an A C site I'd share that lol. The one was really cool it was 3 stories deep into ground with a 2900 AC engine gen set on first level then the 2nd had two 80 hp electric motors then drive shafts thru floor to 3rd floor to the AC pumps. The other was set up similar but only the pumps were AC. You knew them thing were moving some crap when you were working next to them just had that sound. Tight area to. The pump an motor was so big at that one station they barely fit up thru the whole in the floors an would have to take ladder out first which left a guy stuck down there tell they were up out. Both were replaced by new flight submersible pumps and sadly barred in place in I think 06 or 07. But I took the spare pumps cuz they said allis chalmers on them.

i have worked on alot of them. they were easy to fix, simple design and very well built. the usual fix was impellars wearing out due to the grit in sewage. i had the same setups, driveshaft driven in a pit. ty job but someone had to do it. parts are still available as that part of the company was separate.
