thinkin of building a 7080 puller, how light could i get by stripping unessential parts?  like 3pt, cab, hyd.  fuel tanks, also what about clutch and flywheel setup?   was thinking 3000 rpm and a fuel setup from Inj Ed,  nothin wild, just want to go out and have sum fun against the green and red boys

im not a puller but i do have a question for you.   wouldnt you have alot more weight from the heavier axles and planetaries on a 7080 than say a 7030-40 and essentially the same engine?  and with the power being put through some of the earlier and smaller tractors, will those heavier components be required for what you will be putting out engine wise? i guess you could swap the side panels Big smile

itercooler can go on any 7030 and up. advantage to using 7080 is heavier clutch pack in pd. same as a 7580. if you want to use it though, convert it to electric like a 8000

Give up !   I have a 7080 and can tell ya it's 14,000 lbs with no 3pt ? I took it over to elevator and weighed it with same idea u have. Once the lard ass hit the scale I parked it . Engine is cool tho so I'm saving it if I can't get my 8010 llss to work right .

Just decals or hood swap is what I see takes place. The one I have is in good condition just never use it . But it's got a monster rear section! By the way I have zero weights on it and no chloride. 14 k ! Never work unless 11 k or 12 k class .

I hear ya, these have aluminum wheels, been truely gutted in the tranny, finals ground down, tube frame etc, and all that jazz , id personally stick to the One Hundred series!
