I am looking at an 840C ALLIS CHALMERS LOADER dose anyone know anything about these? i know thay were blt. for AC in japan from 1981 to 1983, but has anyone had any experance with this model, are they any good? this one has cab, new tires, and they say it runs good they are asking $4500.00 is it worth it? thanke for any in-put. Tom

According to the book, only 100 were imported. Made by Mitsui, of Japan, weighs 16250 lbs, 6-270 power plant, with 83 HP. Source: Swinford's construction book. I would say go for it as a collector, not a user, unless you can figure out what Japanese tractor # it is, and whether any survive, to this day. (looking for parts)

I know of a couple in this area. Watched one sell for $8,000 a couple years ago, I'm sure it was going to be put to work. $4500 seems quite reasonable if it runs and works well.

I remember Kauffman Feedlot west of Prospect Valley had 2 or 3 of those at least, back in the 80's. I think they sold on an auction when they closed the feedlot down.

i think it needs some break work, i wonder if you can get parts for this model, being as there were so few of them?
