I am replacing the outer final drive seal on my HD6G. A previous owner used massive quantities of glue trying to fix a leak. My parts book shows neoprene solvent 054890 and neoprene cement 033288. Is there a common solvent available? Some people shouldn't be allowed to have tools

A contact cement seems to be what the product used then to bond the boot over the seal. I am unsure if a better product is out there now for that . I used silicone on one machine where I reused the old seal onto replacement sprocket. As I sold the machine later unsure of long term results but no problem for the several years I had machine.
