I think it would be neat if AGCO would have done like WHITE did with its heritage brands when they were phased out and made a "spirit of" tractor. It isn't really hard but it means alot when a company is proud of its past and goes out of its way to https://www.google.com/search?q=commemorate%20definition&start=0&ion=1&spell=1" rel="nofollow - - commemorate it. These are the ones that WFE made.     If anyone has any info on these or has any more pictures please post them. I would enjoy hearing about these. Unfortunatley those tractors didn't sell well altough that was as promotional scheme ment to commorate the company's heritage AND increase sales not celabrate it's demise. Remember WFE (AGCO White brand) was killed by AGCO. AGCO did slap HERATIGE EDITION decals on the last few orange tractors if that makes you feel better.
AGCO IS focused on it's heritage. It started with the Wallace tractor, became Massey Harris and then Harry Ferguson came along and "Walla" Massey Ferguson as it is today. I've even read that Massey bought AGCO instead of the other way around. Never let facts get in the way of good advertising. LOL ------------- AGCO My Allis Gleaner Company |

If I am not mistaken White just built the one Spirit of Oliver tractor and the others were custom made tractors. They did how ever build the White 60 and 80 tractors that were offered in four colors. These were discontinued when Agco bought out White. While they were a nice looking tractor they were behind in drive train technology. They had brake issues involving the diff lock, the shift lever still came up out of the floor between your legs and the 3 speed would free roll down hill on the low side. You also have to realize that the Spirit of Oliver was built 15 years after White quit buiding Oliver, MM and Cochshutt......... I know a guy who worked at Charles City when they started building the silver White tractors, the factory workers at first refused to build these new tractors, they wanted Olivers, but were told if they wanted jobs they would build Whites. The End. What happened to Advance Rumley, Reeves, Nichols and Sheppard, Dain, Avery, Van Brundt and the hundreds of other brands that used to be out there?
