| I have a b and a c and both of them the rear wheels will not tighten up. Are the clamps the same for the four bump and the single rib? |

| Not the same. Two with a straight bolt that go next to each other. Then two with eccentrics which go across from the straight ones to tighten against the straight bolt clamps. |

If it won't tighten you can use shim stock, or go with 4 (four) eccentrics.

| go ahead and use shim stock but do not use four eccentric clamps the clap that is in the driver lugs must be a solid clamp. If you put a eccentric on the drive lug it will loosten when enough power is applied. |

Having the same trouble with my 1938 B was at tour local show back in June and had the left wheel fall off twice one was during the parade to the downtown area needless to say I am working on it now ------------- Allis Chalmers fan from Arkansas |

Unless you're a purest doing a restoration, the four lug rims similar to those found on a Farmall A are mechanically superior. When you say wheel fell off, do you mean the actual tractor hub hit the ground. That sounds really scary. |

Take a straight lock and a cam lock and put the cam lock on top of the straight lock and insert the cam lock bolt. Now turn the bolt so the cam is fully extended. now note the difference. Use shims to tighten your wheels. Good tight wheels with the locks are every bit as solid as loop wheels and look a whole lot better. | I wonder if I could weld these up so that there is more material. I tried shim stock and it worked its way loose. I really need to fix this problem. The B isn't too bad. The c is getting dangerous. |

I use 18 or 20 gauge sheet metal for my shims and cut it a bit long, then bend the ends over so it can't move around. You can weld the shim to the wheel lock, but I believe they are made of cast. LOL Bob ------------- 4 B's, 1 C's,3 CA's, 2 G's WD, D14, D15, B-1, B10, B12, 712S, |
