I just got back from a service call and had this WD45-D sitting at the shop looking to get in the shop for repair. So I looked it over and the first thing I found was the right side of the block is cracked all the way from the front to back. I think I'll call the owner tomorrow with the bad news. I'd though he might have seen the big crack being that long.Confused

The universal answer to all questions is yes, how much do you want to spend?

Heard there was a bunch of them at Plain City show last weekend. He should try to save it, seems there is a good following for these tractors. I bet you could swap parts over and with some TLC make a good runner out of it. I would not get crazy, of course it's not my money were talking about here!

Here's the latest on the WD45 block, called the owner last night and was told he knew it was cracked and to go ahead and work on it; So I'll get it in the shop then we will see what's going on inside there.
FYI, the tractor came in because the engine will not turn over, this engine might get a out of frame over/haul if it go's that way I will post some pics of the work.

I pulled the pump off today after a good long hot bath to find a engine under all the grease, found the pump is locked up and the engine is tight as a cork in a bottle. lol
Head is next to see daylight tomorrow. All I see for now is $ going in to it!

I'm guessing when the price hits the owner like a mortar round the ole girl either gets a G230 or "good running" used motor.

That's what I'm thinking too. I have made some calls for a good runing G230 just in case he go's that way. I hate putting time in this old engine but he is making the call to go deeper in there.

Transplant engine will keep it going, any value it had, down the drain. I tried over and over w/ Raycraft to get him to help me transplant engine into one the 45d's i had here, he would not even discuss it, that's why he was a true AC man.

What is a good running G230 worth? I think my A2 had it's last big break down yesterday. Engine runs great, I just need a value to put to it.

Midwest Cyl Head in Nevada Ia can fix whatever is wrong with that block. Won't be cheap, but they can save it. I have an early 262 block you can have if you want it. Needs sleeved in the counterbores and cracks around 10 head bolt holes. Midwest quoted about $1200 to repair. I found a really nice block at Colfax that ended up $800 ready to correctly assemble...
