I'm getting ready to restore a little CA that I got from my cousin last year.  He bought it 20+ years ago back east on the Mississippi River where it was used to truck garden in a area that raised a lot of Strawberrys.  It has a 2spd mounted in between the tork tube & trany on those 4 large bolts.  If a person didn't have a history with the CA you'd think it was factory.
It lengthens the tractor about 6" putting the 2spd  lever just ahead of the trany shift lever.  Brackets to reattach the fenders  (to the tube that holds the foot pedels) & longer brake push rods all came in the kit.  Would like some info on it before I start the restoration & would like to take her to some fall shows this year!  So if any one has a little knowledge about who made it etc. please help me save a little bit of Allis history.  My Ph# is 785-527-3200  or E-mail me at mailto:leon@ballandson.com" rel="nofollow - leon@ballandson.com with your Ph# and I'll spend the nickel!  I'll also check the Allis Forum everyday Thanks a Bunch,  Leon        PSS Don't know yet if it's over or under

It is a Sherman 2 speed, probably under or drop down. The same unit will fit B,C or CA tractors.

Larry Matthews has one, I think on a C. His is an over-drive, which allows him to participate in caravans which have the minimum 10 mph rule. He is in the Petoskey, Michigan area.

I never sold one but it was available from Sherman for the B, C, CA.  Sherman also made them for the WC not sure on the WD or WD-45.  When the power director came out it kind of limited their market.
You have a rather rare item on your tractor.  I am sure it will draw attention at any show you attend.
If you have pictures I would be delighted to see them.  I will send you an e-mail so you can send direct if desired.
Good Luck!

I have a buddy that has one on a CA. It is an overdrive. Makes it a pretty quick little thing. I have one on my WC that is an overdrive. The guy I bought it off of calculated it to be 20% increase.

Burgie has one on his PINK PULLIN C.
I saw it in Ashville NC. when Pinky still owned the tractor. I have a picture of it somewhere.
