O is a nice size, 00 is better if you can bend it to fit. I found sturdy cables at NAPA last I wanted some.

I have made up battery cables using Welder Cable.

1 gauge is the norm for 6V. Although in this case bigger can be better. Welding cables are a bit much, but to each his own. We have custom made cables for each Model AC tractor made. Drop us a line if interested....

I use welder cable on all mine because it flexes nice around all the bends. I don't care about what is correct, I want function and useability!

I had my last one, a 00 welder cable and very flexible, made up at Batteries Plus for $11, 1/3 the price of the NAPA cable.
