I got my 72 home today, and I have a couple of questions. First it has set for a while and its a little tight, ive got it soaking and it does rock back and forth. I think its just tight chains and maybe a bearing ot two. Is there anything besides the normal to watch while trying to free it up? I would like to use it on small seeds like clover. Are the 72s as good or better than the 66 or 60s?

The only difference between a 72 and a 66 is it did away with the drapers up front to feed the cylinder and replaced them with a more "modern" auger and conveyer chain setup. The seperating area is all the same. I dont know what condition yours is in but if its kinda locked up it must have sat out in the weather. Even if bearings get free'd up will they be reliable for use?? Post afew pictures if you can. Ryan

I imagine the hold up is the fingers in the auger. They can tighten up if exposed to the elements much. Spray the fingers down well and maybe even unhook the drive chain and turn it over by hand. Hope this helps. I agree with Ryan, please post some pictures.

I still havent figured out the pics yet but im still trying. I am going to try it again in a couple of days but im sure i will have took start unhooking chains. Im also going to have to get a hy cyl to raise and lower the head. Sombody has robbed it off.

check under the false bottom where the clean grain raddle travels to be certain it's not full of nests or packed full of straw.Will destroy the raddle chain and slats

If you need a new 7" auger I have an excellent one (very minimal use) for sale.
