Is there a simple way to replace the upper steering shaft bushing (near throttle/lift quadrants) without removing the steering wheel?  I thought about just bending a piece of thin steel around the shaft and sliding it in place.  Would have to do something to it to keep it from sliding down the shaft.  I'm hoping you fellas have some better ideas?

Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

Another option is to drive the pin out of the u-joint behind the frame rail and pull the wheel and shaft out, then put a new bushing in the quadrant.
