I mowed my front lawns last evening. I mowed the Allis C and Woods 59 mower. I pulled the Oliver disc behind. I did the lawn in front of the house both long ways and cross ways. The side front I just did it length ways. The old girl purred along three hours without a sputter. If it keeps that up I will put some tin back on so it looks like a tractor.

Just a thought! It might be just an idea but could help if I proof read what I type before posting. Smile (RE: Woods 56 mower) before correction.

Yup, I sure was. I did it last year as well.  Year before last the bearings wore out on my lawn roller so last year my yard had all the frost bumps that needed rolled. I had just rebuilt my old Oliver disc and no time to repair the roller. I had the disc hooked to the C with the woods mower so I thought what the heck and started mowing. The disc was not set in just in the straight position. After making a coupla turns I see that where I had gone over it twice the bumps were all but gone and looked better than being rolled.  I didn't measure the depth of the cut but from the tractor seat I would say about an inch or a little less.

This picture is from last year shortly before I decided to mow pulling the disc. Actually when I started I was planing on mowing a place to unhitch the disc before I see how the lawn was looking.

Ha! Not only did you mow and 'roll' the lawn, that actually might also be an 'aerator'!! Thats a good idea!
