Has anyone out there removed the cast iron pulley=sheave that is on the twin wheel drive gear box ? there is no set screws or pins or clips, just a L shaped key as you can see in photo. I feel that I will need to heat up pulley hub and gently us a puller or drill and tap 2 puller holes unless someone knows a trick. Then I will have to heat pulley to re-install back onto shaft and hope I dont overheat oil seal. JL

That "L-shaped key" is probably a tapered key.  It wedges in between the shaft and pulley.  If you can get it out the pulley should come off with reasonable effort.  If not, drill it out or be prepared to replace broken parts...

It is a tapered key. I had to remove mine a few years ago to replace the seal. I used a big chisel to get the key out. I then carefully heated and pulled the pulley off with a puller. Mine wasn't stuck that bad. Hope yours isn't either.
