I'm having trouble keeping a  seal in the distributer side of power steering. One suggestion was to check for shaft play,I've done that and find none.Any other ideas?

The pump is probably worn out.......new needle bearings and new seals at a minimum. Also don't use Dexron, use modern day universal hydraulic fluid.

Probably a darn sight better than a city slicker could!  A man made it, a man can fix it...

It was MADE by country boys... FOR country boys-  I'd sure-as-heck think so!!!

Other reasons why hydraulic system blow seals and puke... the ventilation device isn't working, or the system is overfilled, or the pump is sucking in air and aerating the fluid... which also causes the fluid to overheat, and the pump to howl.

my pump d17s3 had a blowing seal problem ended up changing the bearings and had to add a speedi sleeve to the seal surface to cure its problems not hard to do..and so far it has worked
