I have read the Service Manual on remving the fan and the pulley so that the two bearings can be removed.  But that does not seem to work.  both the fan and the pulley are too light weight stand  up to a gear puller.
Any suggestions?  Need to replace both bearing .

thanks
Bob

They have to be pressed off and on. I didn't get to watch when mine were removed last year. NAPA shop did mine.

you need a "split bearing puller attachment". It clamps on behind the pulley and you attach your puller to it so the pulley is not damaged. I applies even pressure all around the circumference. Bob

Thanks Warren and Bob.  Had to use the advise of each.  Pulley end bearing and pulley came off with a gear puller and split bearing puller.   Had to have a press for the fan and the fan end bearing.  Took ten tons of pressure and the fan hub heated cherry hot.

However the new bearings sure do reduce the engine nosie level.

Thanks

PS Know of anyone having a used G hood for sale.  Mine has been cut and modified
