Been looking for a Ford tractor jack for a while and I finally got one. The tractor lifts itself off the ground. Did anyone else make something like this?

There is one of those in the barn at the old Home Place but no dog chain:) I never thought that looked heavy enough to pull the front end up.

The back piece is like a hinge with one side that hooks to the 3 point arms and the other has yokes that slip over the axle housing. When you lift the 3 point it pulls the whole works back and forces the rearend to go up. The front piece just rests against the front motor mount and the chain keeps it from sliding so the fronts come up too. You can lift all 4 tires or just the rears.

I was told they were used to lift the tractor to adjust the width for cultivating because you have to turn the dishes on the wheels to get wide enough for 38in rows, grandfather would just flip the wheels and run them backward, or you could swap sides to have tread going the right way. Didn't they also recommend you store tractors  with tires off the ground years ago.

That's the Knot head that never heard of shutting of the PTO before dismounting. I guess he never heard of getting caught up in one.

Unfortunately before live power you had to leave the pto run on fords to get the hydralics to work. They had a cover to put over the shaft but not with the big adapter on there.

But there is no need for the hydraulics to work while you set the jack up, only after it is in place and it would be very easy and smart to do it from the seat.
