Just curious about the performance difference (if any) of a tsx464 carb. versus a tsx773 carb. on a WD45.  Thanks....

Have a 464 on one and a 773 on the other..the 464 seemed low on power, I had a spare 853 off a Gleaner E, definitely a noticeable difference. Even the one with the 773 seems more powerful then the one with the 464.

Carl-

Do you notice any difference in the fuel consumption?

Have a 464 on a 217 cid WC engine and and have used the same 464 on a 240 cid WD45 engine running more rpms. It seemed to work just as well on one engine as the other. The 240 cubic inch engine is now running a 773 but it does not seem to make any noticeable difference. Both of these carbs are virtually the same anyway with a different number.

They both take the same parts internally, but what are the differences that would make a 773 run noticably different??

I haven't really used em both enough to notice fuel consumption different. I mainly use the 1957 wd45 with the 773 because its the best working tractor outta the 2. I have a throttle / rpm issue with the other one I can't seem to fix..

The 464 and the 773 are in the same family of carburetors. Jetting is a fuzz different on the 773 vs the 64', but they still should run about the same. It greatly depends how things are set up on each engine, (and the condition of each engine) in the performance end of the spectrum. There's a lot of variables that can make one engine run better than another of the same size. Valve adjustment, timing, compression, combustion. Lottsa' things can make a difference between the performance, not just the carburetor's alone. Like anything else, its all in the combination...
