I've been to two Bauer actions and swore that I would never go again. Pat, a Monday auction is just the kind of thing that those guys do, they know that most collectors that would buy a lot of that stuff won't be there. If anyone does go, be sure to be in a position to see where the bids are coming from.

Ditto. I don't trust them one bit because they DO pull shenanigans like that. Honestly, I'm not even tempted to go to that auction. They are one of the two auctioneering companies in central Illinois that I completely avoid.

I've been to two Bauer auctions, but hadn't noticed them bumping bids on people. I watch for that with any auctioneers that I'm not familiar with and trust, so appreciate the heads-up.

I do frequent a lot of sales and although I have not personally had any issues with their sales, I keep hearing these warnings over and over. I have taken heed and will keep my head out of the clouds with a watchfull eye at this sale. Rumors usually don't come out of thin air. There is usually something that gets the stone rolling.....

I have been to tons of there sales. They use to have most of all of the farm sales in Central ILL. They arent any worse then any other sale I have been to. Fake bids are no different then reserve prices,or the owner bidding there own equipment up. They are all fake bids. The thing of it is. Dont go over what you want to go,and it doesnt matter who is bidding against you. I have yet to go to a sale where there isnt someone bidding for someone else, buy bidders,or reserves.
